The Song of Words: Hip Hop and Tolkien

This space is a very special place where we provide analysis and compare the poems of J.R.R Tolkien and the exciting lyrics from rap. Corey Olsen, the Tolkien Professor, and Knewbettadobetta discuss the meanings, similarities, differences and the influence of each in their worlds and alongside each other.  In the process, we'll come to a deeper understanding of both.

Knewbettadobetta uses his Lord of the Rings expertise combined with his knowledge of the hip hop culture while the Tolkien Professor uses his Tolkien expertise and his passion for English poetics to dive deep into these lyrical masterpieces. These two will combine their knowledge to teach and learn from each other while opening up a world of new enjoyment and understanding to the viewers!
