This project consists of a translation and analysis of Völsungs rímur, a poetic retelling of the first chapters of the saga of the Völsungs. Future iterations of the project will edit the translation to be more accessible and readable, explore the difference between the poem and prose saga chapter by chapter, and potentially include a translation of the associated chapters from the prose saga.

Any feedback from readers is welcome but any suggestions, thoughts, or other comments on the themes of the poem (e.g. feud structure, transition from pagan to Christian society, marriage) would be particularly helpful. Any suggestions on other potential research avenues would also be helpful particularly at the beginning of this project.
