In this book, Joel Ruark develops methodically the observe-interpret-apply approach to understanding the Old Testament text, innovatively using the first eleven chapters of Genesis as its control text. He follows the hypothesis that sound biblical interpretation and application flow from disciplined observation––the same kind of disciplined observation required when analyzing any other variety of literary work.
